Its Just Wrong.

Its weird. We think things dont change but they doremember back in the 80s when Gaddafi/Quadafi was bombing discos in Berlin and ItalyI remember because our German Class went to Germany the summer of 1986 and we werent allowed to go to any clubs/disco out of fear of terrorism. And then there was Pan Am flight 103 that exploded over Lockerbie in December of 1988. I had flown out of Switzerland the day before and woke up that first morning home to that tragedy. Ill never forget watching the news coverage and seeing all the parents at the airport in New York waiting for their college students to come home. I felt really lucky to be alive.

So anyways I came across this picture of Muammars son playing soccer in Italy

I couldnt believe they would even let his son in the country much less let him play their beloved soccer so I yahooed Muammar to see what was up with him and found these amazing headlines

Africa Daily - Apr 29 2:59 AM Dubai: Muammar Gaddafi is looked upon as a changed man today. His handshake with British Prime Minister Tony Blair last month is dubbed no less than 'historic'.

Australian - Apr 28 12:33 PM LIBYAN leader Muammar Gaddafi wrapped up a visit to Brussels today after a colourful comeback to the world stage for the former pariah, who appears keen to woo Europe as a counterweight to the US.

Deutsche Welle - Apr 27 12:35 PM Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi is in Brussels on his first trip to Europe in 15 years. At a press conference, Gaddafi said his country wanted to play a leading role in promoting world peace and serve as a bridge between Europe and Africa.

Reuters.com - Apr 27 10:41 AM BRUSSELS (Reuters) - On a turbulent maiden visit to the European Union, Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi appealed to the West Tuesday to seize his offer of peace and not force his country back to its bad old days of the gun and the bomb.

Channel News Asia - Apr 28 12:58 PM PARIS : Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi said he "absolutely does not regret the past", despite his country's former alleged support for terrorism. "We were in a phase of fighting for emancipation, liberation.... We were accused of being terrorists, but that is the price we had to pay.

The only newspaper account that questions the rationale behind befriending Muammar is an American paper and the International Herald Tribune (same difference)

New York Times- How Qaddafi Became the Toast of Brussels - 21 hours, 22 minutes ago Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi's lunch with the president of the European Commission calls into question the ethics of making peace with a sponsor of terrorism.

International Herald Tribune -Don't welcome Qaddafi - May 02 6:49 PM Some European leaders seem unduly eager to welcome Libya's blood-stained dictator, Colonel Muammar el-Qaddafi, into respectable international company. They ought to restrain themselves.

What does a person have to do to be banished for life from polite society? I mean Tony Blair shaking Muammar hand? How does that happen? Why does that happen? It shouldnt happen. Its just wrong.
