Monday Morning - 9:24 a.m. Ive been trying to think of something to write aboutnothing comes to mindthen I remembered that I ordered Clay tickets on Saturday. I know what you are thinking, oh God here she goes again about Claybut really this time its more than just about Clayin fact it usually is Its starts out in theory being about him but really its just about us having funforgetting that we are too old to be hooting at concertsforgetting that we have all sorts of responsibilitieswe just take off for 24 hours or 3 daysits like we go into a time warp or somethingits not like your average weekend away. Its not all grown up and mature. Its not some geeky girls weekend away. We dont talk stupid about needing time away to rejuvenate. We just go and do whateverAfter we pick Mel up we are gonereally goneeven when were still here in our own townits very strangeafterwards we wonder what it was all about We have all traveled great distances to foreign countrieshell all 3 of us have lived abroad and yet we are insanely excited to go to Appleton, WI on July 10th. We are pulling AmyK into our madnessI think its very strange that he is playing her town in the middle of WIit must mean something - what Im not sure. Mel will sit in the back doing various calculations and handing out food, and Lisa will be fondling the Road Atlas and taking pictures of strange, irrelevant things. I will be driving...hello! Control freak here!! This time we will have one of the original cast members of the Clay Train along with usLisas daughter Annashe went to the first concert with usthis time she is turning 13 the day after the concert. Could there be a better way to become a teenager than to go on a road trip to a concert?! We plan to show her that there is more to life than the nightmare that is Junior Highthat growing up doesnt mean becoming old and boringwe will share womanly knowledge with herthings like dont drink more diet coke than your bladder can handleeyes and lips are too much - pick one and go with itfeel free to scream as loud as you want - its a concert and you are surrounded by AssHats from Wisconsin!! And most importantly growing up doesnt meaning growing oldshe is 5 years from being 18...Im 5 years from being 40...and were both goin on a road trip to see Clay! |
